Founded in 1865 in Vilobí del Penedès, Vallformosa is one of Catalonia’s oldest family wine houses, historically renowned for Cava but increasingly focused on still wines sourced from 400+ partner vineyards. Its still wine program showcases terroir-driven varietals, combining traditional stewardship with modern precision. Cap de Pera comes from DO Terra Alta’s high-altitude vineyards (350–500 m), planted on calcareous clay soils, where warm days and cool nights preserve acidity. The Garnacha Tinta–Syrah blend delivers ripe red and black fruit, silky tannins, and structured freshness. Malvasia de Sitges, from the coastal DO Penedès, expresses Maritime-Mediterranean influence, with floral, citrus and saline notes, bright acidity, and textured weight — an elegant reflection of Sitges’ historic varietal and Vallformosa’s terroir-driven vision.
