Paxton Wines, in South Australia’s McLaren Vale, has been a pioneer in organic and biodynamic viticulture since 2011, combining long-established vineyard practices with ecological sensibilities. The estate’s biodynamic vineyards, spanning diverse soils and aspects, benefit from proximity to the Gulf St Vincent, which tempers ripening and enhances aromatic precision. Winemaking emphasizes minimal intervention, hand-harvesting, and extended lees contact, producing wines that are vibrant, expressive, and site-specific.

The EJ 125 Year Old Single Vineyard Shiraz is drawn from some of McLaren Vale’s oldest shiraz vines, planted in 1895, whose deep root systems and low yields concentrate flavour, tannin structure, and aromatic complexity, yielding a wine of extraordinary depth, poise, and ageing potential. The Queen of the Hive Red Blend balances varietal richness with layered structure and nuanced aromatics, while the MV Shiraz showcases dark fruit, refined tannins, and regional freshness. Across its range, Paxton articulates a clear vision of McLaren Vale terroir, blending the influence of old vines, maritime cooling, and biodynamic principles to produce wines of elegance, vibrancy, and sense of place. Each bottling demonstrates the estate’s commitment to ecological stewardship and precise vineyard management, highlighting both the character of the vines and the region’s distinct soils and climate.
