Melea is a project within Long Wines focusing on terroir-expressive, organic wines sourced from family vineyards in DO Terra Alta — a mountainous, inland appellation of Catalonia characterised by clay-limestone soils at 375–425 m elevation and long Mediterranean-continental summers with low rainfall. Here, winds such as the dry Cierzo and humid Garbinada shape vine stress and phenolic ripening, while organic dry-farmed vineyards yield concentrated fruit. Melea’s sustainable practices and a commitment to biodiversity - including membership of 1% for the Planet - further distinguish the brand.
