COUNTRY: FRANCE

REGION: BORDEAUX

SUB REGION: HAUT MEDOC

Château Troupian is a part of the Lestage Simon estate, situated in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne. The vineyard, rooted in clay-limestone soil, is dominated by the Merlot grape, producing a very feminine, slightly wooded wine. The Haut-Médoc enjoys an ancient reputation, perhaps better established than that of the Médoc proper. This stems from its location – closer to Bordeaux, its viticultural potential was recognized from the eighteenth century onwards, a quality its landholders and entrepreneurs were quick to harness. This region extends across a stretch of around 60 kilometers in the left bank of the Garonne and the Gironde rivers, to the north of Bordeaux. The wines of the Haut-Médoc AOC are characterized by their vivacity and their brilliance. Harmonious and well-balanced, generous but not to excess, with time they develop a nose of remarkable excellence.
